I Even FunnierJamie Grimm is ready to head off to the national semi-final comedy competition.  Living with his aunt, uncle, and bully of a cousin since the accident that  killed his family and put him in a wheelchair, Jamie loves to  make people laugh and has a tight group of friends; Gilda Gold, Joey Gaynor, and Jimmy Pearce.  Jamie also has his Uncle Frankie, who owns an old-fashioned diner and a 1967 Ford Mustang convertible.

After getting into trouble at school Joey goes to live with Uncle Frankie, taking Jamie with him.  Frankie helps him train every day for the comedy semi-finals, entertaining the customers in the diner and believing in him.  But when Frankie has a heart attack Jamie is faced with an impossible choice; support his beloved uncle or follow his dreams…..

The book is easy to read and has illustrations with great detail and graphic novel like strips telling parts of the story.  It’s a sad and a little bit depressing how many things go wrong in Jamie’s life but he shows if you just keep trying, you will succeed.  I like how the characters never give up and carry on smiling.  It’s a positive book I think young teenagers will enjoy.
